Opening Social

At the beginning of each school year the Interior Design department has an opening social for all the students and employees. It is a wonderful time to catch up with old friends and hear about everyone’s summer. It is also a time for the seniors who recently completed internships to give a report about their experience.

This year the opening social was a smash! The theme, Arise and Create, was taken from Alma 32:41, “nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow… and it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life.” Students were inspired to nourish their talents, faith, and knowledge so that they too would be able to not only increase their design talents and skills but also build their faith in Jesus Christ.

Internship reports were also given by all of the seniors and went exceptionally well. We heard from seniors who went all over the country, from New York and Washington DC to St. George and Los Angeles. It was a wonderful experience to hear the knowledge that was gained and the life lessons learned as well as the advice they had to offer to the under classman.
